JCORP DONATES RM3 MILLION FOR PURCHASE OF 20 VENTILATORS

JOHOR BAHRU, April 10 — Johor Corporation (JCorp) and its subsidiaries are committed to helping the government address the COVID-19 pandemic by donating RM3 million for the purchase of 20 units of Respiratory Ventilator Machine (RVM).
Its president and chief executive Datuk Syed Mohamed Syed Ibrahim said the donation was channelled through the Sultan Ibrahim Johor Foundation (YSIJ), which is the coordinating body for the purchase of RVMs for the state’s Health Department.
The fund was contributed by JCorp with KPJ Healthcare Bhd, Kulim (Malaysia) Bhd, QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd, Johor Land Bhd, Damansara REITS Managers Sdn Bhd, Damansara Assets Sdn Bhd (DASB) and Waqaf An-Nur (WANCorp).
According to him, JCorp also provided assistance and food donations for frontliners and B-40 low-income earners through the Johor Social Welfare Department (JKM).
“Kulim (Malaysia) Bhd through its subsidiary Kulim Pineapple Farm (KPF) has also donated over RM110,000 worth of Melita Pineapple products to frontliners and foods through several KFC and Pizza Hut restaurants since the beginning of the Movement Control Order (MCO ).
“As of April 8, more than RM197,000 in donations have been raised through WANCorp and a total of RM136,000 from this fund has been distributed to 3,043 needy families throughout Johor with the cooperation of JKM,” Syed Mohamed said in a statement here today.
At the same time, JCorp had set up a relief fund for his staff from the B40 group, while also donating equipment and supplies worth RM45,629 to the Malaysian Armed Forces and other frontliners.
He also paid tribute to the group’s frontline staff including those responsible for the maintenance and security of buildings, support staff who handle food preparation and delivery services through KFC and Pizza Hut chain of restaurants.
Meanwhile, Country Garden has donated one million surgical and N95 face masks to Malaysia’s frontliners battling the COVID-19 outbreak.
In a statement, the company said the donation was part of a humanitarian initiative and solidarity by Guoqiang Country Garden Foundation and Forest City.
“The face mask was distributed to frontliners consisting of medical personnel and police officers serving in Federal government institutions as well as institutions in the state of Johor,” he said.
Recently, Country Garden’s vice president for Malaysia-Singapore Region Ir Syarul Izam handed over 500,000 face masks and 50,000 N95 masks to Johor’s Menteri Besar Datuk Ir Hasni Mohammad.
